Default Photo identification help needed please!!

Hi, I have what I think is a WW1 photo of one of two brothers.
One was a member of the 1st Batt Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire Regiment) and the other in the 8th Service Batt Gloucestershire Regiment. The first was also formerly a member of the Army Service Corps.
This photo of him is pretty poor, I admit, but came from a tiny original. It shows a lapel badge - can anyone identify it and help us to decide who this man is?

Hi,
The man could well be an officer in the Army Service Corps. The collar/lapel badge would be same size as the hat badge although in this case there doesn't appear to be a hat badge.
Cheers, Tinto

The man in the photograph is an officer if that helps with the identification.

The best I can do with the image..... the collar might be identifiable to someone?

Do you know the name of the brother in this photograph?

I've only just seen these helpful replies - for which, thank you all very much!
From your replies I can now identify this photo as being of Ernest Edward Brown

Yes, agreed, looks like an ASC collar badge, same size and design as the cap badge

Is this a photograph of the same Wiltshire Regiment man whose photo you posted in a more recent thread?

https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=69328

If so it's unlikely that he was in the Wiltshire Regiment as a private and formerly an officer in the ASC, more likely the other way around.

No, this was a photo posted for a friend wanting to identify which of two of his uncles was in the picture.
I obviously had set up things wrongly and didn't get a message to say that anyone had replied to my original question 4 years ago (!). Having come back again to ask about my uncle, I noticed that I had some replies to this thread too. My friend is delighted that he now knows which uncle is in the photo.
Many thanks once again to everyone who replied.
Joanna
