Default Putting Your Location in User Profile

Hello All,

I'm curious as to why many members of this forum do not indicate their location in the user profile? I understand that many use an alias for security reasons. However, what harm is there in posting at least your country? Cheers,

Walt

I posted mine because I don't think I'm wanted.

Hello Akiko,

Ace! Thanks for your comical reply; I admire your sense of humour! Would anyone else care to chime in??

Hi Walt,

As an Englishman abroad I've always listed my location. In this day and age where we as collectors are often forum based and could in fact be anywhere in the world, it just seemed like common sense.

If for no other reason than when engaging in a conversation if one party 'disappears' mid chat, a quick look at their location would potentially indicate that they are not annoyed, bored or insulted but just have gone to bed due to the lateness of the hour.

Cheers,

Roy

Right on! Walt and Roy, as this forum is truly “Global” it gives one a sense of timing when corresponding with other members or indeed with an open response to any posts. Dave, eight miles, (twelve clicks) from Niagara Falls Ontario Canada!
