Vickers Armstrong badge
Picked this one up this morning for a couple of quid, no idea if genuine or not, having read previous threads on these badges, believed to be cast in Vickers own factory?
A couple of the letters and number incomplete, don't look to have broken, could be poor casting, any opinions on this one welcome. Cheers Tony.

Vickers Armstrong Home Guard 1st Bn. Letts to top are HG, letters to bottom are 1st bn. Why they have 1st bn i don`t know as i believe there was only 1 battalion! Nice badge though,
Cheers, Dave

Looks like they ran out of molten metal during casting.

Thanks for the input chaps, Dave it is a nice badge not one I've seen in the 'flesh' before acquiring this one. Phil I think your correct about the casting.
Cheers Tony.

Why would one put lugs on a badge that did not pass quality control?

btns reading previous threads its seems they went over to cloth badges, wonder if difficulty in casting these badges was behind the change???
Tony.
