Could anyone help identify this badge that was found metal detecting please

Thanks for the reply and the badge is 55mm high and 47mm wide. I’ve spent an hour or so looking at Cap Badges but as it’s not really got any writing anywhere I’m struggling with its identity.

.....it appears as though it had a cloth embroidered surround? Does it still have remnants? Looks very "Livery" to me?

Yes it’s a metal plating that has unfortunately peeled away and I think I may have found out that it’s AM for Alderney Militia but not sure as any images I can find don’t look the same as this one

Default AM badge

It is a Pouch Badge from the Alderney Militia. There is one in either the Alderney Museum or the Castle Cornet Militia Museum in Guernsey.

What are your plans for it?
