Here is something you fellows are going to have to fill me in on. A set of medals including a DFC & no Air crew europe. can you tell me how this can be unless he didn't go overseas,but he has the France & Germany star. Item # 260288457353 Ray

Ray, the Air Crew Star qualification was for:
Awarded for two months of operational flying from the UK over Europe between 03 September 1939 and 05 June 1944.*

If you flew operationally after D-Day you qualified for the F&G Star. (If you had already qualiifed for the Air Crew Star then you got the F&G Bar)

So I take it the Air Crew europe wasn't issued after D-Day. Ray

Hi Ray, Your last point is basically the story. Once the invasion had begun, the ACE was not awarded.
