Default CPR badge

Hi all,

I picked up this Cape Peninsular Rifles cap badge but strangely, it only has on lug and doesn't appear to have had more or been tampered with; does anyone know why this should be?

Thanks in advance

Iain

Hi Iain
It looks to me like something has been broken off the ends of the scroll, there is a bit of the edge missing on each side. Maybe this was used for something else.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Ouch, yes, you're right, thanks, just when I thought I had a good copy of this elusive badge....

regards, Iain

Alex is correct, The scroll ends on both sides have broken off. There would be a lug on each of the scroll ends. Unfortunately this was a very badly designed badge and the scroll ends break off easily. All the examples I have seen, have had the ends reattached or repaired to make them more secure.
