Possibly Indian pre. 1948., but I can't ID positively.

Yes, I should have mentioned that the hallmark is 1929. Also thought there might be an Indian connection but that's all.

All I could find. Mike listed the collars on the badge forum in August 2019 Imperial(Indian) Police

Yes, but the one you show was worn by British expatriate senior officers who were attached to local police forces (either state or city etc). The one which requires identifying is from a specific force and would have been worn by a locally appointed senior officer.
