Default Nottinghamshire Yeomanry (Sherwood Rangers)

Hi Guys,

Can someone show me an image of the cap badge of the Nottinghamshire Yeomanry (Sherwood Rangers). The badge has a CB number of CB 1242 and is made of Gilding Metal. The pattern No. of the badge is 14109.

The badge has a Tudor Crown and was deemed obsolete on the 30th April 1957.

Regards

Chris

I don't know anything about non A/A badges so don't even know where to look properly. I assume someone has done as project on CB numbers and pattern numbers thereby allowing identification of non A/A badges so I would think the identification of this badge should be quite simple using the info supplied.

Chris

Is this the QC version of the one you are looking for?

Hi Paddy,

I think so, but I need to confirm that the Tudor Crown (Gilding Metal) version was known as:

Nottinghamshire Yeomanry (Sherwood Rangers)

The issue is the scroll with 'NOTTS' in it. Later versions of the Sherwood Rangers did not have this in the scroll and I need to separately identify both badges.

I have just checked my List of Changes appendix and CB 3191 is recorded as Nottinghamshire Yeomanry (Sherwood Rangers) (now R.A.C.) and if it could be confirmed that the Nottinghamshire Yeomanry (Sherwood Rangers) (Gilding Metal) did have the 'NOTTS' scroll then it would be fair to say that the your (with NOTTS scroll) was the version that was the badge that followed it.

Regards

Chris

£5 this morning from a dealer in Somerset. I have never seen one before. This is the first new addition to my staybright collection for over a year.

I was pleased to find it. It is such a small badge that I did not notice it first time around and then I could not remember whether I had one already or not. I have not seen one for sale before so I have no idea of its market value.
