Two way tank
Hi, I've just found another of these tank collars with the tank guns facing both ways. I was wondering if anyone has a cap badge of the same design or any date for these badges or even manufacturer?

Hello Fearnaught, are these badges theatre made, is it possible to see their backs?

Hi David, they aren't cast but are plated brass and not well made but are die struck. Mike

I have never seen anything like these before, and look forward to the discussion. Could they be fantasy badges ? They also remind me of the Gloustershire regiment back badge. Could these be semi-official badges; made for an individual tank Regiment, to commemerate an engagement in which they fought both a forward and rearguard action?

Hi David, interesting thought, certainly they are made with two rears of the tank joined in the middle so one would have had to have had a left and a right facing tank to make them. Not likely to have been done by accident. Mike

I found this one last weekend, again plated brass and not the best strike as the crown is a little off. Kevin

Hi Kevin, they do all seem to be a bit rough but what were they made for and was there a cap? As I said before someone went to a fair bit of trouble to make them, one can only assume there was a valid reason. Mike
