I am wondering about this badge .It has a square j.r.gaunt over london plate on the back. I like the stamping but it has a new feel to it. Is it a restrike?

Its a shame you havent posted a ruler next to the pic, I dont know if this is collar or cap. This is, as you probably know, one of the yeomanries that does use the the same design for the collar and cap. Ive got one of the regimental histories, "To The Last Round" which shows some excellent photos of officers badges. In all of thoss photos the collar is smaller.

I think this is cap badge, but some here may disagree. If you not happy with the badge you can send it to me and I`ll refund your money.

Thanks for the hint... I guess i should be putting in a ruler to show scale... this badge is an exact overlay of the badge illustrated in Cox... Military Badges of the British Empire 1914-18... page 157 badge 1304. I'm not unhappy with the badge at all. I just can't believe my good luck in having a badge in ths good of conditon. thanks for the reply Jim
