Default American Sam Browne attachment !

I watched a film The Court Martial of Billie Mitchel yesterday and all the US army officers had something hanging from their Sam Browne belts were British officers would have one strap of their sword frog. Any ideas please?

Thanks

P.

I would have guessed a frog for a sword as the British, but not my area so can't say for sure. However, in case this might help, here are three screen shots from the movie that may help.

Hope it helps,

Terry

Apparently known as the frog and chain with clasp for waist level or ‘drag” sword positions.

Thanks Terry,

thats it but doesn’t look like a sword frog more like a hanger for a dagger if anything.
