This arrived in the post today - Royal Engineer blanking plate.

It's interesting that the design is applied, fabric patches sewn on rather than a woven or printed design - is this common with these kinds of insignia nowadays?

The badge looks to be on an Osprey blanking panel rather than a uniform one, am I correct? T |

Perhaps a PM to the poster (Deejayuu) may be helpful. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ead.php?t=1350

The Osprey blanking panels are made of Cordura [nylon], the clothing panels are made out of the same material as the MTP uniforms. T |

So . . . . what exactly is this 'badge' then? It would appear to be way too big to be something official. But there has been a bit of work put into its construction, no?

Possible it is the Armoured Engineers - 32 Engr Regt ??
It may well go on a back pack, day sack, Bergen, something like that? It is extremely well made and as Crest-Insignia has said properly - The Osprey blanking panels are made of Cordura [nylon] Jerry

Are they part of 11 Brigade as it appears to have the colouring of their brigade TRF? (ie 11 Inf Bde Bull) - Regards Mark
Edit: in fact very similiar to the ww2 79th Armoured division patch, currently on offer - McGregors/RobinG site. Last edited by MarkGD; 25-04-20 at 09:08 AM. |
