Default PPCLI officer's cap and badge

Thought I would post a few pictures of my latest acquisition:

I picked up the cap from Marway here in Winnipeg. I had my eye on it for quite some time, but it was missing its original badge (Jaime informed me it had been stolen). As a cap collector, I couldn't resist. After a bit of a hunt, I was able to locate and purchase a beautiful Scully made sterling badge from Lou Grimshaw. The screw posts were a perfect match for the original holes on the cap, and the badge is a perfect fit over the imprint/discolouration left from the original badge.

Definitely one of the finer pieces in my cap collection!

hi led,

I collect RCN & have several caps in my collection.

& I love the old pre integration caps, & this example you have is surely a superb quality example! The pre integration cloth covered visors are something we will never see in Canada again, unfortunately.....

Some are photo'd in Clive Law's latest book, pages 68-70

but how about posting some more from yr collection?

best... RCN Bryan

Here are some pics of a couple of other officer's caps my collection:

1. WW2 Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Highlanders balmoral with sterling silver officer's badge.

2. WW2 Royal Winnipeg Rifles cap (belonged to Lieut. Thomas Mervyn Vant) with sterling silver officer's badge.

Hi Chris, A note about the SD & G officers' cap badges. They were available in both sterling silver and silver plate.
