Question on Arrangement of Gilt Metal Shoulder Titles
Hi all,
I have recently seen a one piece GM cadet (TF affiliated) shoulder title where the order of the title has the number of the unit at the top above the word 'CADETS' in the middle and the regiment's name underneath. In Westlake, a similar example is shown with the word 'CADETS' at the top above the number and regiment. This arrangement is consistent with the construction of other similar titles I have seen with a 'T' or 'C' at the top and number in the middle. My question is, do examples exist with a unit number at the top or is this example likely to be a poorly put together 'fake'? I should add that the construction looks contemporaneous to the period. I am unsure on this example as I do not collect to lots of different units and I am not sure where responsibility for procuring these would have lain (I.e., would they conform to a standard pattern or were there likely to be such variations)? Therefore, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Kind Regards, Pete Last edited by Tiger Pete; 05-12-19 at 04:03 PM. |
