Kangol beret manufacture question
I just finished reading the post submitted by ASR142 "WWII BRITISH BERETS TRAITS AND CONSTRUCTION" and have a few questions, perhaps someone can help answer.
In the post, it was stated and shown that a radial stitch pattern is visible on the top of Kangol berets. Is it always the case ? I have and have seen several authentic Kangol berets where this was not apparent... Last edited by Westernhighlander; 01-11-19 at 12:27 AM. |

Can you show pictures of the berets that don’t show this?

My original that I was issued in 1945 (dated 1944) shows no sign of radial stitching on the top.

This is a beret that was sold on a militaria website, emedals. Perhaps the stitching pattern is there, but I don't see it. Perhaps it isn't visible if the pile on the wool hasn't been worn down. I will post additional pics of other berets which I believe are authentic.

I'd hate to think how many times they get that wrong. |

Do you mean
“the spirals starting at the center of the beret and going in a outward motion”? Thid is always the case but if you have a minty beret this is less apparent as a worn one. JB Quote:

JB is correct, it is visible only when the nap is worn.
