Default 13th Hussars?

I am struggling to identify the cap badge being worn in this photograph. My conclusion is that it is the badge of the 13th Hussars. Can anyone please confirm this or offer an alternative suggestion?

Thank you.

Thank you,

I was working on the assumption that the 13th Hussars badge was more circular in outline, (minus the crown), than the more oval R.E. cap badge, but, as we cannot see either the top or the bottom of the badge, I will go with your suggestion.

It is often difficult to get an exact match in a photograph when the light has highlighted certain raised areas rather than the ones you expect to see.

Simon

If it were a thirteenth Hussars you would expect X111 in the centre of the cap badge, but, it is clearly not there.

Upon looking again at the photograph, the rectangular tablet at the bottom of a thirteenth Hussars cap badge is also missing.
