I take your point but in this case I think it's very fake. The die detail is poor and I have yet to see a badge from this die I would consider period.

Knowing the amount of boxes and bits I'm not surprised after all these years some bits are in the wrong places, and they are originals from 'G & N'....I really believe any that aren't sold will be in the scrap pot from what I've been told.
I do know the seller who is advertising these for 'G & N' and he is a genuine chap. well respected .

Default dies

If a member of the forum has purchased a set, it would be interesting to see if a badge could be made from the parts - a great video !

You'd still have to put sliders or lugs on.

I think lugs and sliders would be the last and least of your problems.

The existence of this Kings (Manchester and Liverpools) badge rather suggests that they are modern dies and not original as this badge was never issued in brass and nickel but only in a/a.

If it was a forum member that won the Hertfordshire Regiment die last night, I would be very interested in seeing a close up of if possible.

The thing that does worry me, is that if and I do say "if" any of the dies are original, that in the wrong hands a lot of damage could be done. Of course it always depends on the extent of wear or damage to the die. Luckily, the fake Hertfordshire badges are easy to spot.

This is also my reason for wanting to own and have a look at a set

I take it not then?

Can anyone show any of the dies that have been snapped up so far?

They will most probably end up as scrap metal.
And as 'Billy' said earlier inquiries are from ex squaddies for their own Regiment.
Hi, just to be clear, did the dies come from g and n, or a later company that brought there dies. Would like to know as I brought one set of dies

turns out the set I brought , to the east Anglian brigade are from

G.S.Tye & co Ltd Birmingham.

they are the only makers of the large Anodized cap badge that uses four fixings to hold the front of the badge to the back.
