Default The Suffolk Regiment cap badge

Hi,
I recently acquired a Suffolk Regiment cap badge. Im pretty sure its genuine. It is missing the central tower however and any inscription in the inner circle and above the castle. Can anyone enlighten me or date it maybe.
Thanks in anticipation,
Steve B

Assuming the scroll is gilding metal and the remainder white metal, the 4th, 5th and 6th Battalions, part of the Territorial Force 1908 - 21.

Has it lost all or part of the orb at the top of the crown? Regards, Paul.

Apart from the top of the crown, I am never happy with round blowholes, just a personal thing, they always look to me to be drilled. Also there is no space between the top of the towers and the flags, maybe it's a bad strike . . !

An opinion only

Rob

Cool "Rust marks"

Another thing I am not keen on is the "rust marks", I once bought an Australian badge with similar marks which when cleaned proved to be a fake.

I suppose the faker put my badge in a tin of rusty nails outside and left it a few weeks to gain "patination".
