Default mystery bag full of paracord

The bag is 12 inches square and as you can see full of white paracord. I do not know whether this is a civvy or military object, any help much appreciated, John.

Hello John

I'm not sure what your piece of kit is but I can tell you that '15A' was an RAF stores prefix code for "Man-carrying Parachute".

I'm sure someone will know exactly what it is; the knowledge on here is truly amazing!

Roger

It could be a “Treescape” parachute abseil device,
used to escape if the parachute lands in a tree.

I reckon the metal object is some form of brake.
