St. George's Day - Zeebrugge Raid.
Tavistock RMA had a small service today at the graveside of Maj. Alexander Allen Cordner RMLI KIA on the bridge of HMS Vindictive, St. George's Day 1918.
The service took place at Whitchurch, Tavistock, Devon where he is buried. The wreath was made locally and included a laminated image of a RMLI Officers two-part cap badge, the image kindly allowed to be copied by forum member 'Paddy' who has our grateful thanks. Ritchie. |

Can anyone verify if Dover made a commemorative medal which was presented to all those on the Zeebrugge raid. I heard it mentioned many years ago but was never able to verify it?
