Default Gordon Highlanders - an Other-rank's glengarry badge, yes but in hallmarked silver

hello,
i have this badge my collection since the 70-80's. After some cleaning, i found out the hallmarks at back.
- Maker's mark is G B maybe George Boot (1936...)
- Assaye (Birmingham) marks ; anchor, lion and S for the year 1917 or 1942 (same marks)

Thank you for your comments and ideas.
Regards
Jean-Marie

Nice badge. I am an American getting interested in Scottish officer's badges. I have seen lots of the die cast versions of the Gordons, but this is the first die stamped hall marked one I have seen.

Jean-Marie,
The GB maker is a modern copier who has been around for 30plus yrs or more, there are a number of t cycles recently which can be mistaken for 1918 but are in fact 2018.
The cartouche (shield) around the stamps is the giveaway. I suspect yours to be 1992 although your image of the stamping is not too clear the cartouche indicates the later date.
Paul

There is another thread on the forum regarding this maker which I cannot locate at the moment
