Default Unidentified Buttons

Hi All,

I dug these 2 up metal detecting on an old farm today. The one has letters RC on it but I doubt it's military as there is no crown. The other appears to be Victorian and at first, I thought it was a Scots Guard but when I cleaned it up a little I can see it isn't.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

The first one is Victorian & has the shield & motto of the City of London, Domine Dirige Nos [Lord direct us].

David.
