E VII the second appears to be cut out of the center of a cap badge but the quality and strike differ and why/

Neil,
The 2 large GM grenades are NCO’s arm badges. The other is a Vols or early TF OSD collar

I would say that the 1st NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE badge is for a belt buckle looking at the fixing lugs.
