10 CRT
A local collector friend has just picked up a 10th Canadian Railway Troops cap badge, from WWI, can any forum member give me any idea of it's value please?
I gather there are two types, this one does not have the Malple leaf. Thanks Destro |

10 CRT?
Hi Destro, Not sure what you mean by two types? The type with a maple leaf was an interim pattern with a collar badge on a general service maple leaf. The other pattern was similar for the 256th Bn and 10 CRT, the difference being the numerals on the design. Charlton indicates that there is also another interim pattern with "10" overlay on 256th badge, but they are scarce.
To further add to the identification, the 10th is found in several finishes, including browned copper or brass and silver officer's. An or's 10 CRT badge would be in the $65 to $85 Cdn range. Maybe a bit more on a good day. |

10th CRT Badges
I would put a value of $120.00 CDN on the more common one IMHO!
The 256th Badge Mint! itself will be closer to $300.00 CDN IMHO opinion. I have kept track of the 256th that seems to be the value again IMHO! Mad4thcef |
