Default Council for the Defence.

I guess congratulations are in order for this member.

He has survived the audacious attempt to have him removed from the Forum by those he has now called ' bully boys ' in a rather vitriolic PM to one of the members who apparently, has had the nerve to stand up to him.

Personally, I would hate to think that when he refers to ' bully boys ', he is including myself, all I do is speak my mind and hopefully, tell the truth, telling a fellow member to crawl back into his hole, is hardly condusive to forming good relations amongst the Forum members.

I guess that's the nature of the man, anyway, the ' poll ' failed, as he said it would, so we can all look forward to some interesting posts in the future and I just hope that I can resist the taunts that I'm sure will be coming my way ??

I'm off to watch the ' footie '..........

Dave.

Oh dear, the nasty PM's have started already, I know that these are completely unnecessary, why does he do it.....

Default A well-hung jury (. . . mostly)

A win for the defence despite allegations of 'jury-tampering' by the prosecution . . .

Dave
Please keep 'speaking your mind', it is far more interesting than some of the drivel that comes from the subject of your post above. This is, after all still, alledegly, a free country.
Perhaps we should 'embrace all sections of our broad church with equal love'.

Yes Robin, he has been banned from the forum, this is due to him upsetting other forum members.

Hi Phil,

I don't think " upsetting other members " quite hit's the mark, his remarks were more likely to be considered as defamation of charactor, particularly in the way he tried to belittle me, I suppose that could be loosely interpreted as upsetting but he went further, in my opinion of course.

For those who miss him, he will be back and I'm sure he will continue to be at the very least, abrasive in his comments, this has always been a shame because he is also a very knowledgeable person....

Dave.

Hi Dave,

I was just trying not to cause offence, and, keep it simple for Robin.

Cheers

Hi Robin,

Salt and old wounds come to mind, despite it being a nasty episode, particularly for other Forum members, I didn't really think it would come to life again.

Now that it has happened, I personally wanted to keep a low profile and not get into it again. you will notice that no-one has mentioned it but your confusion is fully understandable, I think it's sad in all honesty but it happened and the one thing we cannot take back, is the written word.

I'm rambling and I haven't had a drink ???

Dave.

Dave,
You were very fair, even defending him in an e-mail conversation we had where you told me what a pleasant chap he was in person & very different to how he behaved on the forum. Considering the 'debates' I had with him, he even bought a badge from me & was very polite about it!
That said, I still saw his constant 'digs' which was usually very unnecessary & just furthered forum members dislike of him - by then I had taken peoples advice & ignored him
As you say, he will most likely be back but if he is I hope he learns from it & doesn't take the same attitude.

Best regards....Andy

I'll close this one as it's probably inappropriate due to the person being discussed inability to comment.
