Machine Gun Guards
Just received this badge in the mail this morning.... on looking at it my first impression is it could be good but then I'm thinking it's not.
The rims at the base of the cartridges look weak... but it's slidered... but no crimp mark... but it's got the right dimensions... the braize looks O.K.... But I need a second (third) opinion.... Thanks... Jim |

looks like the wrong sort of slider to me, but i'm sure someone else can give a better answer than that.

I don't think the badge and slider started life together and appear to be a later marriage!

Hello Andy,
What do you think of the badge itself, the reverse looks rather too smooth, very much like more recently made badges? Kind regards Frank |

Frank,
The front of the badge looks very good, with crisp detail and a nice patina, however the back as you say is a let down and from the images probably an aged copy? Andy |

Hello Andy,
I have never seen a real one with a back like that, which I always associate with relatively modern copies, I would have to say that it cannot be original. Regards again Frank |
