Default Unknown Victorian Buttons

Hi learned members I am trying to identify a collection of buttons (see image below).

My guess is that it is an officer's button from the Connaught Rangers as below the crown there appears to be "CR", I may be wrong and open to interpretation.

It’s actually GR and the buttons are for the Gloucestershire Regiment

Outstanding and thanks for the quick response.

The total is 18 Large and 8 small all Victorian and in great condition.
