That is very reminiscent of the type of badge made by a local craftsman in the South Yorkshire area. Paul L may be able to add something?
More interestingly, theres a dealer in Barnsley that donated this badge? Don't tell me he's turned over a new leaf! Ivan |

There's a chap in Barnsley (not a dealer though) who specialises (or did anyway) in making cast or stamped copies of badges in a wide range of materials such as resin, aluminium, brass etc.
I don't think they weren't meant to deceive and they are fairly obvious but it did strike me this could be one of his. Paul L will know who he is but I seem to recall he was ex Y&L. There is another chap who was based at Endcliffe Hall in Sheffield and was by trade a REME Craftsman who used to knock similar things out during the working day! He had his own little workshop where he made copy badges for his own amusement. Ivan |
