Welcome to the forum! Manufactured by Firmin and Sons (some marked so) for the collectors market and advertised in magazines and newspapers of the day which, if I remember, was mid 1990's. There were sixteen sets of five badges, with eight sets for each of the larger frames (that the badges could be mounted in). These were dispatched monthly at a cost of £49.90p per set of five (nearly £10 a badge) for a total cost of £798.40p. Quite expensive in their day! Interestingly, at least one of the obverse dies used to make one of the Danbury Mint badges is still used in a current issue Firmin packeted badge today. Regards Chris |

You have the Buttons and Ribbons set (NOT the cap badges). I have some information and will post it tomorrow.

Here is the original sales flyer for the Danbury Mint set of "Regimental Buttons & Ribbons of the British Army. As it includes the KRH, PWRR, RGBW and RLC it is post 1994. Purchased by subscription each button with ribbon cost £5.45 and there was a frame available for £25. So 68 buttons plus frame cost about £400.

Help with missing Danbury Mint regimental ribbons/buttons
A friend has been given a set of this collection which I am trying to clean up and put back together. It is missing two ribbons/buttons (top row, second from right and bottom row, extreme right) although it is possible that others have been moved so this may not be of use as a reference. It is missing its certificate of authenticity and explanatory notes so has no real value other than as a curio but I have the RAF squadron badges set which, when cleaned up and glazed, looks lovely and I would like to do the same with this set.
Any thoughts on where I could find a) the plan of which ribbons/buttons went where and b) where I could find the missing ribbons/buttons? |

Regimental Buttons & Ribbons of the British Army - Danbury Mint
This copy of the sales leaflet may help - I do not have the set. looks like top row second from right is Grenadier Guards and bottom row extreme right is QARANC.

Terrific, thanks! I had guessed at the QA ribbon and the top row looks like mostly guards. I imagine that the buttons won't be too hard to find but just need to find the ribbons which I suspect would be harder...

I agree with Tim,you need a Grenadier Guards and QARANC buttons.
I dont know the widths of the ribbons, but im sure you can find a minature medal ribbon that will suffice. |
