HAS ANYONE AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS?
I was watching a 6th Hampshires badge on ebay which had gone beyond what I could afford When I received a call to buy some mixed items amongst which was a 6th Hampshires, brooched but otherwise in very nice state, how much does this lower the value by half by a quarter or what? I do not intend to sell but am curious as to the effect it has on price. With it was another Hampshires badge also brooched with an effect I have never seen before it appears the lower third of the badge has been gilded, was this how it was made or when it had a brooch pin fitted any thoughts? and would anyone care to put a date on the Hampshires badge? Thanks Roger

Me personally don't consider it's worth and how having a broach fitting effects it's value. It doesn't bother me in the end as I intend to mount and frame them all; so the back won't be seen in the end. If you don't intend to sell them, then they really have no value.

Well on that point, quote the final sale price of the one that went beyond your budget. As to get one if you loose it would cost that approximately.

Honestly, some people need their bloody heads examined. £25 for that badge tops. Absolute lunacy IMO.

That maybe the case Keith, but I don't have the opportunity to do car boot etc over here. I didn't mind, it 'aint that much in relative terms.

Don't buy it. You can have mine for £25, I'll soon find another cheaper. I can never understand why buyers don't do their homework. Lew Shotton has one for £30, why pay a ridiculous price just because it's ebay?

nah it's Ok. I covered the cost of this by selling three product samples from one of my clients. So really it was free.
About 90% of the collection I pay for this way. Simon. |

The thing is Keith, it is amazing what you can accrue in profit margin when you've already pre-advertised your products and had them sanctioned here on the site......is this the way we're going from here on??
