Default Unidentified Ship`s Tampion.

Although not strictly a badge, I picked up this heavy brass ship`s tampion on the weekend, but have had no luck finding out which ship it`s from. I`ve unscrewed it, but nothing on the back, possibly WW1, but not really sure. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Martin.

Hi David,
HMS Caesar was my first thought, but the head didn`t seem to match the ones that I saw. Maybe they did variations ??

Hi Martin,

It's a Roman head, & offhand I can't think of any other RN ship that would fit other than Caesar. Is it from a tampion or is it possibly a badge from one of her launches?

David.

Quick update on the tampion, it`s from HMS Prometheus and pre 1919. So happy days...
