Default ABERYSTWYTH OTC/UTC SET

Afternoon all.

A small collection that maybe of interest relating to Aberyswyth OTC/UTC University of Wales.

1. OTC (solid U.C.W) on loops with J.R.Gaunt London tablet.
2. OTC (fretted U.C.W) on loops with J.R.Gaunt B'Ham lozenge tablet.
3. UTC (solid U.C.W) on slider with J.R.Gaunt London stamp.
4. University Of Wales O.T.C "thin" shoulder title" (Westlake ref 1652)
5. University Of Wales O.T.C "fat" shoulder title (Westlake ref 1651)
6&7. Officers buttons (sealed backs and raised rim) marked J.R.Gaunt & Son London Engld
8&9 Or's buttons (open back and no rim) marked J.R.Gaunt & Son Birmingham and second London Engld.
10. Officers small button as per 6&7.

I managed to get the unfretted gaunt same as you show

They are Jerry ,one of the rarest . Havent seen one for sale for maybe 10 years . Saying that you do see many Aberystwyth badges in any metal full stop .
I believe and correct me if I'm wrong, the UTC/OTC ceased to exist in the early 50s ,so that gives you a very small window for an anodised version to be made ,produced and used.
There are a few early UTC/OTC anodised badges out there,Bham UTC and St Andrews UTC are probably the commonest . But others that fall into that period are rare rare,Aberystwyth, London,Edinburgh,Glasgow and Sheffield.

I think I saw a really battered one that had sold some time back, but I wont sweat looking for one.

I was of course pleased to get this one, there was one on ebay last year but was a lot more money than this one cost me
