Dave
No problem, for some reason I keep pricking my finger on mine now. I managed to acquire a spare one on Monday so thought you may as well have it. Paddy |

Shouldnt this have been the subject of an exchange of E mails between members PM rather than a thread ?
P.B.

No thimbles........this is a feature on a well known auction site to block troublesome bidders. I often refer to it as the finger pricking preventer........you can sit back and watch the bids come in whilst having a glass of wine and no worry.

Who got out the wrong side of the bed this morning ? When you have several hours to spare, you may wish to trawl through the past posts/threads in the General Topics section to see how many members have thanked one and other for their generosity over a vast range of gifts, it happens on a weekly basis, so please, don't pick on me because you're in a bad mood. For the rest of the members, this is what I was referring to and again, thanks to Paddy, very small but very useful....... Dave. Last edited by davec2; 07-10-10 at 09:23 AM. |

I think the word you are looking for is 'keeper'
Working class members of the forum like myself use polystyrene.

Hello Dave,
I did not get out of bed the wrong side this morning, if this is thread about a military badge then there is not a problem. Like some other members I had no idea what this thread was about. Peter

Sorry Peter,
Perhaps if you had asked if it had anything to do with badges, rather than to just condemn my thread, you would have been able to read my reply that it was in fact, related to badges, unless cyphers are not classed as badges of course. Had I PM'd Paddy with my thanks, no-one else would have known that once again, a member was helping another member, that is the point of my thread and I must also apologise for having a sense of humour. If we are all to contain our remarks to literally the ins and outs of militaria, then I'm in the wrong place and I have the wrong personality..... Steve, I had actually used a small piece of an eraser but having the proper tool is always better than a makeshift piece, don't you think ??? Dave. |

I was just trying to lighten the mood Dave. It makes me depressed to see forum members fighting. I try to stay friends with everyone because its in my best interest. I might need their expertise one day

Hi Steve,
I have no axe to grind with anyone, particularly Peter but we have two very capable moderators to ' police ' the threads on this forum and I will not sit back and let anyone other than Mike and the moderators tell me what I can and can not write. I took your remark as tongue in cheek and while on the point of levity, there are a few members on this forum who suffer daily but still manage to smile, in fact I have been in Intensive Care on three occasions and I've seen quite a lot of misery so if I can't crack a joke, then I'm wasting my time. I'm sorry to be so negative and like a ' dog with a bone ' but no-one has the right to question my motives without knowing the facts. Dave. |

Chaps,
Enough please. Your views are quite clear and respected but may I suggest that we draw a line under it as the written word is often misinterpretated as it fails to convey the tone that something has when it is spoken. Alan |
