Hi

Just a couple of pics of the 2 G&N badges I have RAVC & RAEC. Both badges are well made, have the stamp in small font on 3 lines and certainly feel and look good to me. Happy to hear opinions to the contrary.

Paddy

I concur. My G&N example also has a round sweat-hole at centre rear of shield, covered by slider.

Yes, I have that mark on a few Bi-Metal RAOC Cap Badges as already noted.

In what form is it on the AA Badge Chris?

Hi Mike,

Not found on any A/A badges but Gladman and Norman Limited did gear up for both collar and cap badges with St. Edwards's Crown in gilding metal and white metal. I have included them in the book under:

The Manufacturers Who Supplied Non Cap Badge, Anodised Aluminium Items

for interest sake as a few companies did have contracts with the War Office during the A/A cap badges era. while others were asked to gear up for A/A badges but were, for one reason or another, unable to.

Some of the companies listed, e.g. Ludlow & Co. Ltd also produced other A/A items such as blazer buttons so they were capable of manufacturing A/A items. Who knows, one day examples may turn up so it is important to capture them in a central repository in case they do.

W.H. Saunders Limited has a particularly interesting history. See page 37.

Regards

Chris
