Discovering military Badges by Roger Capewell
I saw this book advertised some years ago, I asked my daughter to buy me it for Christmas as it was at a price I thought a young person could afford.
This was the second edition, which was edited by Patricia Anne Kemp, BSc. The front cover had eight badges illustrated, only one caption was correct and that was in the wrong place. I started to write a letter to the editor on the points that I had found wrong, I gave up after page 42. Having spent forty two years in the printing industry, some of the time checking text and film, I find any publication that has mistakes in it, a complete abhoration, with the knowledge that is available online plus the books that are around on this subject, all publications should be without faults. |

Could I politely suggest that linking to pages showing pictures of fake badges is perhaps counter-productive to this site's aims longer term.
The Scottish Regimental Badges site shows several, as does the book's site (Birmingham Pals badge, for example). |

I've removed that Scottish badge site as it's got a nasty looking gambling pop-up which may be accompanied by other nasties, adware, malware, other crapware, keyloggers who knows?. Can't be be an accomplice to taking out someone's hard drive.
