Dave, I can't tell you about anything about 1DG badges (I know very little about cavalry) but I do know that Jennens & Co were swallowed up by Gaunt in 1924. That's why there are a lot of 'JR Gaunt / late Jennens' marks about.
There were some uncomplimentary remarks about Gaylor's book elsewhere on the forum recently ! J

Thanks in advance.

Dave,
your bird was worn for a short period in WW1 up to 1919 which would tie in right with the Jennen's mark!

Dave,

The regt disliked their Lion over scroll badge so much that they commissioned their own design during WW1 with the eagle. They then had to go back to the official.
one before finally getting a (bigger) eagle cap badge again post WW2. Hope this stops the banging.

Alan

Cheer Alan,

Andy will smile but I've already got a sore head and it isn't alcohol related, so anything to stop me banging will be a bonus, lol.

Dave.
