This badge is from the door of a Victorian safe; its the royal crest that was awarded to the manufacturer; it should have only one long screw fitting and its also comes in sizes like the you have and up to 12ins for the big safes.

So it's a replacement post fitting and back on ' ebay ' ................

That made me laugh. An old friend of mine had one of these which came from an old safe. He glued it on to a tobacco tin and kept his fags in it. Looked quite impressive at the time. He's been off the fags a few years now. I wonder did he flog it ?

yes i got one some were i was told it was a rare pouch badge and i fell for it we live and learn

don't be too disheartened, you may have come up trumps!!! I have an old Victorian safe in my shed, that you can have!!

Perhaps you could match them up??? As long as you pay for the postage!

I'll tell you what mate,

You pretend this badge is a collar to Berkshires, buy it off me, stick it on your safe and you'll have a genuine, complete and very rare safe

I'll even re-fit the post fitting for nowt !!
