I think you'll find that the lugs are original and have been re-attached at some point. They are near identical to those I have on a pair of collar badges gifted to me by a former glider pilot regiment officer over 35 years ago. As you can see, they're not exactly smothered in braze so likely a weak point on these.

The two raised lines are just casting anomalies, like the line shown on the right wing of the badge on the left in my photo.
