Today at the D-Day Commemorations at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire (linked to opening of the British Normandy Memorial) a Gurkha was holing an umbrella over the speakers at the lectern and I spotted this badge on his sleeve.

Yep, "Bisley" innit?
What's the ribbon or whatever on the wrist about", a charity? Now I've checked "British Army Proficiency Badges" 2nd edition by D. Langley and D. Edwards, - " Skill at Arms", "In final 100 of Army Service Rifle Championship (worn in perpetuity)". I only have the one badge in my collection, yellow on khaki, and I can't remember it's a "100" or a "50" version. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 06-06-21 at 02:12 PM. So not readily visible (unless at the low port on umbrella duties) but there to reveal as required

Chaps, apologies, i thought these were on the site somewhere. The metal badges for PCS working dress, the normal badges for FAD, green border for LI & Gurkhas. Regards Mark
