Default Salerno

Am off to Sorrento in July and hoping the good lady will show some forebearance and join me in a trip to Salerno.

Does anyone know if there are any places of interest to visit in that area which are related to RM Commando actions in WWII landings?

Ray

Default 41 RM Cdo, Salerno

In my view an appropriate start point would be the graves of 36 members of 40 and 41 RM Cdo in the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, Salerno.

If you get the chance visit Anzio

Their is a amazing Museum just off the beachhead on the road to the train station.

The first thing I saw as I entered was the regimental flag of the 2nd Battalion North Staffs my Grandfathers regiment i gave the Museum a Copy of his records.
