Default WW2 Para beret ?

Having had a good look through ASR142's sticky on berets I think this to be a correct WW2 issue beret.
The naming inside the diamond looks to be British Beret Basque LTD and dated 1944 but it is very faded. There is though the WD stamp inside the rim with a Z which according to the table also indicates 1944. The para wings have been stitched on more recently it seems but there is evidence of earlier stitching and beneath them it looks like two holes have been made for the lugs of the cap badge. Not sure if they are war time issue though.
Quite faded and moth eaten ... but came from a shed clearance on a local carboot so did not break the bank
Cheers
Gary
