NZ Army General Service Cap, known as the Ski Cap, Trialed from about 1952 and introduced in 1957 to replace the Lemon Squeezer, extremely unpopular and was dispensed with in the mid-'60s and replaced with the Beret.

Hi BC, the anodised sigs badge is probably original to the cap, as the Kings Crown Onward badge is WW2 era.The cap is missing its brown leather chinstrap which connects between the two NZ Forces buttons.
https://medallionmilitaria.com/?prod...iod-forage-cap These normally go for between 25-45 NZ$ here in NZ. Another reason these were unpopular at the time was because they resembled the WW2 German caps, however the NZ one was possibly influenced by the US Army style ones of the postwar period. Similar in style though not in colour or fabric to British caps of the period which were also commented on as being inspired by the German WWII design, also to a WWII British design, and a 1950's Canadian.
