Looks like we're running out of options on this one! The painting will have to go into storage until we find out more.

Richard,

Providing you have not done so already ( and it was suggested earlier ), other than seeing if the local media might be prepared to pick up the storey ( " Trying to locate family of forgotten local hero to return his picture etc etc " ) I cannot think of any other suggestions to make except perhaps bringing this thread to the top of the list every 3 or 4 months in case any new member might recognise your man or have any new suggestions about finding who your man is.
