Help ID a flash

Hi all,

I bought this flash locally thinking it was a British RTR flash but the grey around the edge got me thinking maybe it is a local (SA) flash.

Hi Iain, it's Australian 7th Div Cav from ww2 desert campaign, Depending on size it's either a previous unit or worn at the time, 1.2 ins or 1.75 ins across, nice patch either way and armoured, Mike
