Canadian Infantry Corps badge in white??
I bought this today as it was the only item I found interesting in a mounted board. There were the typical associated items; a CANADA title, div patch, private's hook and Infantry Corps shoulder title but this caught my eye because it's in white metal. It's clearly plated (nickel I think). I was wondering if the CIC had a band? That's the only thing I can think of.
Thanks for any help. Sock Monkey V.C., K.C.O., I.S.O., M.C., M.M., O.Y.O.N.S., etc. etc. |

VD and Scar
Speaking of which, I have a letter written to my Mum by a school chum who quit divinity school in Toronto to join the RCAMC during the war. He ended up posted to a V.D. unit overseas and wrote of it being a very grim job. I wonder if some cruel officer took joy in sending the poor priggish Prairie boy to a nasty posting like that.

No Ideas Yet?
I'm still trying to sort this one out Folks. Canadian Infantry Corps badge in white metal. Any ideas? Did the corps have a band?
Thanks, Monkey |

It is a good possibility the fellow had it plated, but not sure why. There wasn't a band of which I am aware, as each MD had a band (in some cases more than one). Is there any chance he was an officer or officer candidate?

Possible
Certainly possible but it's a thrift store find so there's no telling.

Band of the Canadian Infantry Corps newsreel.
Check out this video. 4:50 mentions the band of the Canadian Infantry Corps in Italy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvqLcoUgwjA
