Hi Forum Members,

There seem to be a lot of these Warwickshire Yeomanry badges on auction.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WARWICKSHI...gAAOSwYlJW2Dwf

Are they genuine?

Thanks, Tinto

I would think the bear too thin and a hind leg should be raised? Regards, Paul.

Sorting through some of my badges with question marks over their authenticity. Can anyone please confirm/deny whether these are bad or worth hanging on to.
Thanks
Andy

2nd and 4th are good in my opinion. I would need to handle the others before giving an opinion. PY.

3rd slider has a nice 1st WW look and gut feeling to it! Don't know what to look for in this badge to tell good from bad without comparison to one and then would have to be shown exactly why and what! was wrong! Thanks for your help though P.Y. hopefully someone will come along and let us know?, billy

Default Warwickshire Yeo

Bought this badge off a very blurred photo on eBay whilst not wearing my glasses. Now it has arrived I think it is a restrike, the slider bends a little bit easy for my liking. The badge was sealed in white metal in 1952 which gives me a glimmer of hope. Anyone confirm either way, any help gratefully received.
Cheers,
John

It’s fake.

Genuine WM cap badges are scarce, they were worn pre-WW1 and then a die cast version post WW2. I showed a genuine early example in a thread recently.

In addition to Luke's comment, the shape of the slider and it's phony patination is worth remembering as it is an example of classic fakery.
