Default Not a badge but a Cravat

hi all
been doing some research and have been amassed that a simple cravat would generate my interest.
There seems to be a bit of a history with NZ troops wearing cravats and would be interested to hear more about this.
the attached pic and link is for the combined units who served with the Australians in Vietnam.
These black scarves (cravats) were worn by soldiers of Victor 1 Company and Victor 2 Company RNZIR. They featured a small kiwi motif and were used as a formal dress item and on operations to distinguish both Victor companies from the Australian troops they served with.
looking forward to hearing any more information on these.
regards
bc

Thanks for the info - I have also seen the cravat on eBay - I believed it was used for Pescekeeping ?
The only images I have seen of the NZ Cravat worn in VN had the fern leaf embroidered on it

Like you my search continues for photographic proof
Regards Steve

Default 'Beware of the black scarves'

Here is a link to some more info on these scarves:
https://vcoy67.org.nz/scarves.htm
Also on page 111 of 'New Zealand Army Distinguishing patches' part 1.
There are some colour photos of these being worn in Colin Sisson's excellent book 'Wounded Warriors'.
