Default Hampshire Regt - Opinions Please

I’ve recently purchased these and have a few questions regarding some of the badges.

Firstly, is the OSD badge in the picture below genuine? I’ve had look in a couple of books and can’t track it down, as the design is slightly different to the pictures I have seen.

Secondly, are these badges genuine? The one on the right has a yellow tinge to it and, in this respect, seems subtly different to the one on the left.

Is the badge on the left genuine? The badge
on the right is stamped Firmin London on the slider so I’m pretty confident that it is original. Other than this they look identical.

Is this 7th Battalion badge genuine? It looks pretty much identical the the photo of one on the IWM website and I wanted to check that the one I have is the genuine article.

Ask yourself this, do these badges look very old?

The Hants Vols ceased to exist 113 years ago but your two look as if they were made yesterday. Same with this one. None of your badges seem to have any patina of age.

Thanks Simon

That’s really helpful.

Thankfully, all bar one has been purchased with an authenticity guarantee, so it should be pretty easy to return them.

A couple of dealers websites and two from eBay.

The eBay one’s were pretty cheap, so they’re not a major issue. The others weren’t, so that’s a different issue in itself.

Is they 7th Battalion badge also a copy?
