An interesting post Voltigeur.

The one at the top is RSM I James outside the guardroom at Victoria Barracks windsor. RSM James is wearing his GSM for services in Aden the previous year. The second medal is just the ribbon on a court mounting. This is common practice if the medal is 'in the post' as it were.

Took me back mate.

nice thread, but PLEASE Welsh Guards and never Welch.

Thats is like classing Canada as part of USA??

2nd is Jed Monaghan, 3rd Neil (Jiffy) Harvey and 4th Brian Morgan..

All very fine Welsh Guardsmen, Jed having only left the post in March 2010

Surely though Welch and Welsh are just different spellings of the same thing? One just being an anglicised variation? Welch just being the older of the two, and less anglicised?

I know the official title is Welsh, b t surely not as different as Canada & US?? ;-)
