Bronzed 1916-20 LYPAO ORs
Hi All
I have been collecting the LYPAO for a long time ..... and was pretty confident that I had discovered everything ... up until last week. Then I saw this for sale.... a bronzed 1916 Other Ranks Cap badge looped N/S. Its not fully voided.... the dark chocolate Bronze is correct for the era..... there is some great patina in the back of the badge that comforts me as well. Its the first one I have ever seen for this new issue badge in 1916 to the 1st/1st LYPAO....... there is another, from a different die, that was issued to the 2nd/1st LYPAO. I have a hunch.... just a hunch..... that this might be something to do with the very brief "cyclist" conversion in 1917?

Received today.... and .... yes...... its bronzed
The "un-voided" piece is actually cut by the factory.... but they didnt get right into the corner of the scroll so its just hanging on.
